Established in 1981 as the Satpura National Park and included to Project Tiger in 1999 as Bori Satpura Tiger Reserve is place of very rich bio diversity and unique illustration of highland ecosystem in the Central India. Chital, chausingha and chinkara, who are the favorite prey of King of forest, are also there at park while watching the wild animals at Bori Satpura Tiger Reserve this is not much difficult to spot Rhesus macaque, langur, wild boar, nilgai, hyena, smooth otter, pangolin, porcupine, marsh crocodile, ratel, palm civet, and the small Indian civet, Leopards and wolves. It is reported that Bori Satpura Tiger Reserve is home of around 50 mammals and 30 reptile species.
Notopterus , Catla, Labeo, Rohita, Cirrhnus mrigala, Rita are the some of the fish species commonly found in the water bodies of the Bori Satpura Tiger Reserve. Bird Watchers need not to lose hearts as this is reported that 254 bird species are reported to nestle here. Some of the major bird species of Bori Satpura Tiger Reserve are Paradise Flycatcher, Malabar Pied Hornbill, Malabar Whistling Thrush, Crested Serpent Eagle, Crested Hawk Eagle, Honey Buzzard, Pitta and the peafowl.

For the train journey to Pachmarhi, Piparia on the Mumbai Hawarah rout of central railway is the nearest railway station. Tourist have to take bus from here to reach Pachmarhi by road journey of about 50 KM. In the recent years considering the tourist inflow for Pachmarhi railway has increased the number of trains stopping at Piparya.

For the road journey to Pachmarhi regular bus service is available from Bhopal, Indore, Pipariya, Hoshangabad and other cities. Tourist can also hire a taxi from Bhopal air port or Pipariya rail station.
